Sandra Kuhr's classic comic, Boy Meets Boy, the precursor to Friendly Hostility. Lots of sappy boy-love, hissy fits and homoeroticism. And half the characters have an unhealthy obsession with Buffy.
Collin is a bitter, sarcastic and antisocial megalomaniac who's not on speaking terms with his parents. His life partner, Fox, is a bi boy who's obsessed with cheesecake and has a... colourful family.
Pyro and Largo are stuck in Tokyo with a game accessory. This comic is very geeky, beautifully drawn and a plot that moves with a glacial pace. Despite the Japanophilic nature of the comic it's written by a bloke from Wisconsin.
These comics are often quite subtle or obscure, so don't be surprised if you find some of them a bit flat, but it's well worth looking through the archive- there are some real gems.
PhD Comics is hilarious if you're a PhD student and they can hit really close to home sometimes. Not only is it for PhD students, but it's set in Stanford, making it the perfect comic for someone like me.
Overused jokes about god, sexism and the devil. It's alright for a quick laugh, and the art is rather elegant, but it's not one of the best comics out there.
